Customer Rating: Summary: Great Season potential messed up by writers strike Comment: This was a really great season while it lasted... but as with all shows last year, the writers strike messed up the season which made the season finale come to an abrupt stop. This season was still really good, obviously not has fantastic as the first but great anyways.
Customer Rating: Summary: The sophmore slump strikes but fans will find some rewarding moments in season two of "Heroes" Comment: PLEASE NOTE: Reviews are opinions. The purpose of the reviews are to HELP those who haven't seen the show decide whether or not they want to purchase/read/watch/listen to something. If you disagree, write a review as that's what the voting is for. The comments section IS for those who want to disagree.
The second season of "Heroes" stumbled with its story arc involving Hiro traveling back in time to feudal Japan. There were also the introduction of new characters many of which just didn't work. Unfortunately, Claire's story arc gets sidelined as she attempts to return to a normal life and become a cheerleader again. The show recovers somewhat by midset unfortunately the show was interrrupted by the Writer's Guild strike.
The show looks extremely good in its DVD presentation. The extras are quite good as well which does make up for the diminished quality of the show. We get 11 commentary tracks. I haven't had time to listen to more than one or two of them but they are pretty good. If I'm not mistaken these are the audio versions of the video commentaries that were available on the "Heroes" website.
A couple of the featurettes included here were also on the webiste. The most effective and interesting ones here are the preview of season three (which has some minor spoilers so you may want to wait to watch it if you want to be totally surprised)and a featurette that allows us to see how a series of scenes wer constructed.
"Heroes" still has tremendous potential and here's hoping that the third season "Villians" is an improvement over the second season. This is a good set but isn't as strong or as good as the first season of "Heroes".
Rent it.
Customer Rating: Summary: A real review! Comment: Ok everyone, I know that this has been getting alot of bad reviews. But you have to understand that this was only supposed to be the beginning of season 2, but it got cut wayyy short because of the writers strike. I promise that the pilot of season 3 is kick a**... Cause i saw it at comic-con. So don't give up hope on this show! And buy season 2. Cause it is in my opinion a great season.
Customer Rating: Summary: Roll on Season 3... Comment: Season 1 was brilliant: fresh, inspired, not afraid to take risks. Season 2? Rather insipid, I'm afraid. Peter's love interest, the whole Shanti virus... it's really not very good. It should be called Season 1.5, bring on the REAL Season 2!
Customer Rating: Summary: Season 2 was a huge disappointment Comment: The whole Hiro in the past was tedious and the resolution of the Shanti virus was completely underwhelming. Plus, that kid with the power to take apart electronic stuff is annoying and useless. This was probably due to the lack of funding, but this show always failed to deliver a truly climactic superhero battle. After the Watchmen-like awesomeness of Season 1, the second season really killed it for me. Slap anyone who compares Season 2 Heroes with anything from Lost.
