Summary: Very disappointed with the heating issue
Comment: The GTX280 is a powerful card you will enjoy using when rendering 3D environments like games such as World of Warcraft or other graphics intensive work.

However, I do not recommend buying a BFG tech card. I have it and it constantly overheats if my cabinet is closed. I need to have the cabinet open in a well ventilated area for the PC to work. Otherwise Windows (Vista) blue screens the second you do anything graphics intensive. I have a state of the art Silverstone Full-Tower Aluminum Case BTW so the case is not the issue.

I have learned my lesson. Pay 20% extra and stick with XFX cards.

Summary: Nice card but I'm disappointed with Amazon.
Comment: This review is more toward the product coming from Amazon than the card itself. The card itself so far seems to be fine and work ok even though I have only had it for a day. What does concern me is that when I got the product it was shrink wrapped but once I opened it I found that the anti-static bag seal had 2 other broken seals under it. This card seems like it is not new but was sold as new. It wasn't dirty but did have dust and fingerprints on it. Very disappointing when you are paying over $400 for a item and it looks like it was already used. I registered the card and it has a lifetime warranty so I decided to keep it rather than go through the hassle of getting another since it seems ok.

Summary: Bad card, bad support from BFG
Comment: I had to send this card back for replacement not once but twice. Turns out that it has a tendency to overheat.
I tried talking to BFG about the problems but they weren't interested in hearing about it. They eventually agreed that I would be better off buying from some other manufacturer since they couldn't help with the problem

Summary: GTX 280 OC
Comment: Well, I bought the card mainly so I could support my third monitor. I had a nVidia 8800 GTS already but needed another card for triple monitor support. I debated long and hard whether to get the GTX 280 vs the GTX 260. Price difference was about $80 or so and I figured since I was upgrading I might as well upgrade to something that will last much longer. I play the racing simulator Live For Speed, and this card is able to handle the game at highest detail settings with 60fps at a resolution of 5040x1050... I use SoftTH to support triple monitors in the game. This was worth the buy for me!

Summary: Received it , sent back for replacement - heating still a problem
Comment: I Received the card but there was three problems:

1 - the back side of the card was not meant for it, the back side was for gtx 260 and not gtx 280 which left me unable to connect the 8 pin power to its place because the back side blocked it . The gtx 260 back side is designed for 2x 6 pin power cables and not for ( 1x 6 pin and 1x 8 pin ) . in other words , the cover it self blocked the cable form getting inside .

2 - after I fixed that problem (by cutting a little to allow the cable to be hooked) the card did not work properly, it showed some kind of dots and squares of gray and white on the screen .

3 - the card temp was too high even thought I did even install the OS yet, I was just checking the system if it is working or not .

I have sent the card back for replacement after I send my comment to the company tech support.

I think it is a manufacture error and not a common thing . I will wait and see what will happen next and update the review .

UPDATE :16/11/2008

received a new card three days ago , the heat problem still on . for warhammer online , it gets around 74-80 c but for ghost recon 2 , it reached 105 c ( i think it is too much ) .i will try to contact the help desk for help.

i think the heating problem is common in this card since i had the same problem in the previous card that i sent back for replacement.
