The Window Wedge acts as an adjustable Window Stop for Double Hung and Horizontal Sliding windows. Let's parents safely control the height that a window will open. The Window Wedge is made of a durable, impact resistant, plastic. It attaches easily to the window frame with an adhesive backed strip of Velcro Brand hook and loop material.

Customer Rating: Summary: works great Comment: We live on a second story and my 6 year old can open the window with this in place. I don't need to be so worried about her fall out the window anymore. It comes off if you pull really hard. If there was an emergency an adult would not have much trouble getting off.
Customer Rating: Summary: delays access, doesn't prevent it Comment: This wedge seems to work well when it's in place, but it's not terribly difficult to remove. Two of our kids (ages 3 and 1) climb up and unlock the window and have, on one occasion, been able to remove the wedge. Still, it's probably a good option that strikes a balance between delaying a child's access and not blocking an exit in an emergency.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good stuff Comment: Works very well from everything I've seen so far. We have a 4 yr. old who continually opens his 2nd story window, and putting bars up is not an option. Key thing I've learned is to place the bottom of the velcro strip as close to the middel of the window sash as possible...and then affix the wedge close to it as well. This allows my kid to only open the window a hairsbreadth and doesn't give him enough leverage to open it further.
