In honor of one of the strongest creatures on Earth, we present the Rhino Beetle kit by OWI. Wikipedia says (so itâTMs gotta be true) that a real rhinoceros beetle can carry up to 850 times its own weight on its back. Impressive. That would be like you carrying 45 standard automobiles, or about two Hummers. But this metal model isnâTMt known for how much weight it can support, which probably isnâTMt much. Rather, itâTMs all about the fun of assembling its 26 hard and soft pre-punched aluminum parts into a likeness of one natureâTMs brawniest, if somewhat âaesthetically challenged,â critters (rhinoceros + beetle = freaking UGLY! . . . but in a cool kind of way, you know?). All hardware and needed tools are included, and the illustrated instructions ensure that everything will go together without a hitch. The finished Rhino Beetle measures 4 inches long, and its legs, wings, and prominent proboscis are all moveable.
