how do i get the best seal on my containers? lunchopolis containers were designed with a vacuum seal to keep your food fresh. simply place the lid on your container, press the center of the lid to remove any excess air and secure the lid corners. are my lunchopolis containers dishwasher safe? yes. we recommend loading them in the top section of your dishwasher. how do I clean the lunchopolis lunchbox? both the inside and outside of the lunchbox clean easily with a sponge, warm water and detergent. can my lunchopolis containers be used in the microwave? we do not recommend using any plastics in the microwave. are lunchopolis containers and lids recyclable? yes. the plastic components of lunchopolis are fully recyclable. can plastic leech from my containers into my food? no. our products are fully tested for leeching and impurities both at the factory where they are manufactured and at an independent lab in the united states. i have heard that many lunchboxes contain pvc and lead. does lunchopolis contain either? lunchopolis contains absolutely no pvc or lead. all of the materials used in the production of the lunchopolis bag and containers conform to california proposition 65, the most stringent set of environmental controls in the nation. I've heard about a chemical called bpa in polycarbonate products. are lunchopolis containers safe to use? a raw material used in polycarbonate plastics, bisphenol a (bpa), has been the subject of recent news reports questioning its safety. polycarbonate has been extensively tested over the last 50 years and its use in food-contact applications continues to be recognized as safe by the u.s. food and drug administration, the european commission scientific committee on food, the german federal institute for risk assessment, the japan ministry of health, labor and welfare, and other regulatory authorities worldwide.
