Customer Rating: Summary: Simple radio, Amazing sound! Comment: This radio looks like it doesn't do much, which may be true. But if you get yourself an AUX cable and hook it up to your iPod or computer, throw on some Internet radio, Supreme! I use this radio at the office and when I need to answer the phone, it turns off real easy and visa versa. Also, my office is a preverbal black home to signals, But this radio can pull out radio signals effortlessly! I highly recommend this product!
Customer Rating: Summary: Boston Acoustics Horizon Solo High Performance AM/FM Clock Radio Comment: This is a nicely designed product with all the necessary features without bring overly complicated. Sound quality is well above average as is overall build quality. FM sensitivity was more than adequate. My favorite detail is the way the alarm music fades up to the preset volume rather than scaring me awake. Only complaint is the pushbutton switch on the center knob used to turn the alarm off, which requires a little too much force to operate. Overall the best clock radio I've owned.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Unit Comment: Unit does have good AM/FM reception. Sounds good too. Only 'buggy' thing about it is having to go through the menu of options to select things like sleep timer or presets - a simple button would be better & easier to use.
Customer Rating: Summary: odor and heat Comment: I use it in a fringe area and it pulls in distant stations well and without static.
It has tone controls, a great improvement over it's predecessor the Receptor that has too much bass and no tone control.
But like the Receptor, it makes a lot of heat even when off. Tech support cannot tell me how much power it draws when off or on.
And it has a strong chemical odor that tech support says is due to a little too much adhesive. Over four weeks time, this has improved and is now acceptable.
Overall I'm quite satisfied
Customer Rating: Summary: Reliability is questionable Comment: I bought mine from Target on 7/28 and I came back from work yesterday and the display was blank. I tried unplugging it and plugged it back in and the display lit up, but no time. After that, it wouldn't even light up - totally dead within one week. This was S/N AMW018970. I exchanged it at Target today so we'll see if this one is more reliable.
Otherwise, I agree with the comments on the poor design of the sleep function. However, I bought it for the reception.
