Editorial Reviews:

Since 1880, BlueStar has committed to producing the finest cooking equipment available. Originally a manufacturer of high-powered commercial ranges, today BlueStar markets exclusively to the residential market. BlueStar acquired its name from the shape and color of its open burner flame. Their products are hand assembled in Reading, Pennsylvania. BlueStar ranges provide up to 22,000 BTUs of cooking power for consistent, controlled heat and shorter cooking times. And for delicate soups and sauces, no stove matches BlueStar's gentle simmer. Heavy-duty construction combined with innovative features produce an appliance of uncompromising durability, functionality and beauty that will be the focal point of your kitchen for years to come. If you love to cook, you deserve a hand-crafted BlueStar range. All Bluestar ranges have 24 depth for compatibility with standard kitchen cabinetry. Their cast iron porcelain-enameled NOVA and SUPERNOVA top burners are the most versatile burners in the industry. The NOVA burner provides up to 15,000 BTU's, SUPERNOVA delivers an amazing 22,000 BTU's and the simmer burner has a rating of 130*F. With Convection Oven Cooking, the cavity design of the oven and the convection fan system result in the most complete exchange of air possible. This provides incredible precise, even heat distribution. The direct-fired ceramic infrared broiler is standard on all residential ranges because of its popularity in the commercial market. The large burner produces 1850*F of intense, searing heat close to the burner. The broiler is fully recessed into the oven's top to create maximum cooking space. The BlueStar 30 RNB Series (Residential Premier Burner) has the largest oven capacity available on a 30 range. It accommodates a full-size commercial 18 x 26 baking sheet.

Summary: BlueStar Blues
Comment: I have read many reviews on products, and usually skim over comments about customer service. But when things do go wrong, and a company like BlueStar offers no help when there is a flaw with their product, you realize the difference between good and bad businesses. BlueStar is a company without integrity and their customer service has failed us in every way. My husband and I saved up for the $3,000 for this range and have been trying to return it for over 8 months now due to the fact that since day one it emits a dangerous backfire flame (up to 5 inches high) every time we turn off the burners. Also the oven roars like a rocket (scary) and black soot forms on the outside of the oven door. BlueStar said this range would easily make the Propane conversion we required but this is not the case and something is faulty in the construction making conversion impossible without this problem.

After endless phone calls and emails to the seller, C&G appliance in Daly City, and BlueStar someone has been sent out 4 times to repair the oven. Many parts have been replaced and the problem still remains (I now stand 4 feet back from the stove when turning it off for fear I may catch on fire). One of the repairmen told us the range is unsafe. Depite this BlueStar wont answer our calls and has washed their hands of the matter. C&G wont take the range back and says its BlueStar's issue. So here we stand after 8 months of calls and emails, $3,000 poorer with a dangerous range and very worn down. We recommend you do not buy a range from this company.
