Summary: VERY NICE and not as harsh as regular laundry detergents
Comment: I continue to purchase this Ecos detergent because it is gentle and it cleans the clothes well without the need for anti-static sheets in the dryer afterwards. The fabric softener is built in, and it works very well.
Some tough stains do require special spot cleaning with non-eco friendly products, though... otherwise I'd have rated this 5-stars.
It is great for ordinary soil and I use nothing else on our sheets and undies and anything else that directly touches our skin.
If there are bad grass and/or dirt stains on the kids' jeans, just spot treat those with "Shout" or some other stain treatment.

Summary: Remember to use less and read label directions
Comment: I have been using 7th Generation laundry detergent for years and really like their latest HE version as it cleans well on soiled clothes whereas I only used their old formula on non-soiled "dirty" items like towels and linens. Sam's currently has this 210 ounce bottle for under 13, so I decided to try it. I'm used to using a full 7th's gen. top as my measuring cup, so without reading the bottle label I did the same for Ecos which is about 5-6 times what was required to use for my LG front load washer. My clothes came out clean, but in my efforts to be green I did poorly since I didn't read the directions until I came upon this web page. I also added 7th Gen.'s fabric softener which wasn't necessary either. So read the directions, don't add a fabric softener and be greener than I.

Comment: I love the smell of Ecos lavender detergent--natural and light. Works well on getting dirt out, but for stains, additional stain removers are necessary. I have tried many natural detergents and they are all that way--think the natural is just gentler. Get a good natural staimn remover and most stains can be removed. Concentrated, too.

Comment: We have tried various brands of lavender scented detergent. We are also looking for ecologically beneficial products. This brand has been most satisfactory and it lasts a long time. We use less that the suggested amount and our clothes come clean and have a lovely scent. One case (4 bottles) lasted us (2 people) for six months. A great value!
