Summary: Let me refer you to my surgeon!
Comment: My son now goes about telling folks "we have a surgeon at our house who takes care of things like that!" when he sees some one trying to cut open one of those plastic shells. We find that it really makes it much easier to open kids gifts (which seem to be cursed by an excess of that hard plastic casing), and it's nice not to have to worry that you're going to hurt yourself when you're opening up some little item you bought!

Comment: I tried the tool and cut my finger on the plastic after opening the package. It does not have a blade guard to prevent this. The guard they have is for the blade only. It also sticks open on occasion which seems to defeat the purpose.
