Summary: Creeping Red Fescue
Comment: I pulled out periwinkle and ivy, was left with black clay and refuse from a discarded tar and gravel roof. I hacked up the clay with a short-tined rake, scattered the seed heavily and evenly, watered it enough to keep it damp for two-three weeks, have watered it weekly for an hour since. It has thrived and in just one year there's a greensward that I don't have to mow under a huge California oak . The long blades fall over one another in long swirls. And the backyard has lost a great deal of snail haven.
