Customer Rating: Summary: Magnifier Floor Lamp Comment: The magnifier lamp is really great! The rectangular shaped magnifying window is larger than other models and the lighting is very good. The only criticism is the pole part of the lamp. It isn't very sturdy so I have to be careful when rolling the lamp to a new location. If you are using it in a permanent location, I'd give it 5 stars. I am using it for sewing so I am adjusting the angles and moving the lamp from the sewing machine where I just use the light, to a chair where I do my hand sewing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Built To Last Comment: Professional Fluorescent 7.5 x 6.25" Magnifier Floor Lamp - Heavy-Duty Roller Stand - 3 Diopter
This light is great. Very heavy and sturdy. I don't worry about it falling over. I use it primarily for working on small projects like soldering, installing PC jumpers, etc. I would reccomend it for anyone that needs a hands free magnifying solution.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not as Professional as advertised due to snap on plastic leg supports. Comment: 1) When the package arrives, you get a 5x7 one sided sheet of instructions, which is fine EXCEPT, the diagram does not show you an upclose picture of each washer that you must place in specific locations. Your left guessing which unique washer goes in which position. (2) The constuction is all metal EXCEPT the five legs and the lamp head housing. Why the manufacturer chose to use plastic on such a critical component (legs) of the item, doesn't make since. (3)The plastic legs just slip on over two metal stubs on each leg. No bolts or screws to secure them, just two plastic molded holes. Immediately, one of the 5 legs fell off when I went to pick it up. I didn't force the "snap on" during installation either, or damage the molded plastic hole. If you don't pick it up, it's fine. But should anyone step on any of the legs (like a child), the leg supports will probably break lose or ream out the holes. If that happens, no way to repair that problem. The legs should have been metal and bolted. (4) The product is Okay, but the design of the head assumes you want to "face the stand" while using the equipment, that is, the head has limited positions even with the spring arm. If you want to have the stand BESIDE you, you can not position the head to view items laying on your lap. You must place the stand between your feet to get full lamp head easy viewing. If that is the position you want to utilize it, it works great. Less flexible, but okay for other positions, like working at your desk and rolling the light to the side of you (if the back side of the desk is against a wall). I thought I was buying a Professional light like I've seen at my doctor/dentist office (with metal supports), everything else seems to be the same as theirs.
Customer Rating: Summary: Horrible! Poorly made. Comment: Disappointing to say the least. Spent some time putting it together, only to find that it didn't work. Jack's Tool Shed was very responsive, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of putting it together again (not too difficult, but the instructions were minimal to say the least) and didn't want to go through shipping it back. Anyway, opened it up to find a wire had not been connected. Fixed that, and it worked--for a while. The head is too heavy for the arm and base. It would never stay set, but slowly creep down. Tried tightening the screws, but they were already as tight as they could be. Long story short, the damn thing broke at the hinge after a couple of weeks. So now it's another piece of junk that needs to be gotten rid of. Very poor quality.
Do not buy!
