Comment: I lost this and have been looking for it for over a month. Then I washed some of my cargos and when I pulled them out I saw it lying, CAP OFF, (I found the cap weeks ago) in the bottom of the washing machine. ARGHHHHH....I thought, there is no way this things works, all my files will be ruined. NOPE. Popped this baby into the laptop and she works perfectly! Opened several files to make sure. Another plus is when you do have the cap on, heh heh, it fits snugly.

Summary: Exactly what it's supposed to be
Comment: This is my second PNY flash drive, and I bought it as an upgrade from a 512 MB model that still works flawlessly after five or six years. This one is smaller -- about the size of an ordinary pinky finger, where the old one was about the size of an index finger. Unlike the old one, the cap now fits on the tail end of the stick, making it harder to lose. In terms of functionality, the 8 GB model now has the "readyboost" feature, but beyond that, it works the same, and a month of steady use has gone without a hitch on both Windows XP and Vista computers (I haven't tried it yet on a Mac).
I have allocated 4gb to the "readyboost" feature on my Vista computer. This slows down its initial response time when I plug it into that computer (it takes maybe 5 seconds to recognize the drive, instead of 2), but it's very fast after that. I can't tell that the readyboost feature is improving my computer's processing speed, but it might help more on a slower computer.
Some users have complained that once they allocate space to readyboost, they can't change it, but it's actually easy to do -- just right-click on the drive on your desktop (or in your folders) and click "properties." There's a tab there to change your readyboost allocation. Others have complained that it feels cheap or fragile, but I honestly have no idea what they mean. Mine seems solidly built.
In addition to these drives, I use PNY SD cards in my digital camera, and so far, every PNY product I've bought works exactly as advertised. In my view, they offer the best ratio of price to value (meaning both quality and memory size) in flash memory. Highly recommended.
