Summary: A+ Deal, Bought Two, Quick Install, Easy. Love it.
Comment: We purchased two for our home, installed them in half an hour, and have already seen great uses for them. While away for a day trip, we kept the temp low, programming it to warm up just before we return. Easy instructions, easy use of programming.

Oh...the best part. We ordered these for cheap. Got a deal on shipping, etc. Paid right under $40 for both. I walk by thermostats at the local walplex and similar ones are selling for $35 each. After tax it's $37.80. My deal was a buy one, get one for $1. Thank you Amazon.

Summary: Easy to Install
Comment: The unit is easy to install and operate. The screen displays the information in large and clear font. The only shortcomming is the lack of back-lighting that would allow for legible display in the dark.

Summary: It works.
Comment: I bought 2 of these units. After letting them sit on the table next to each other for a while, they displayed different temperatures, by a difference of about 3 degrees. I was surprised they were that different. I considered sending them back, but instead I used them as they were. The temperature difference seems to have worked its self out and they do their job just fine. After using one of the Lux models a few years ago, I found myself wanting the extra features that it had (another mode for weekends). The display constantly shows the current temperature but unless you hit one of the up/down buttons, will not show you what the current thermostat temperature is set to. I found this annoying as my wife is constantly changing the temp on me and I would like to know what it is currently set at. The LUX model displayed both. If I had it to do over again I would have bought a different brand, probably Lux. Also, a horizontal model would have covered the round marking that my previous thermostat left.

Summary: Honeywell RTH221B Basic Programmable Thermostat
Comment: It took me a while to figure out the connections, I needed to leave the jumper in place and hook up my red wire next to one jumper leg. Then the fan control started to work. Other than that, the unit works fine.

Summary: Requires batteries
Comment: I haven't opened the package yet, so I don't know how many stars to give. I am surprised to see on the back of the package that it requires 2 AA batteries. I thought it was wired-in. What happens when the batteries run down, I wonder?
