Summary: I bought it and returned it to FileMaker
Comment: I bought FileMaker 9 Advanced and because of the draconian activatin policy I returned my copy to FileMaker for a full refund. I then bought FileMaker 8.5 Advanced on eBay. I am completely satisfied with 8.5. I will upgrade when FileMaker changes their activation policy. BTW I have owned FileMaker versions 2 through 7.

Comment: I have been a Filemaker user for over 10 years now and I am yet to find a program that even comes close to Filemaker Pro 9 Advanced for ease of use and available features. In addition to being able to create professional runtime applications that can rival off-the-shelf software, Filemaker's advanced database features allow you to create internet-driven solutions as well. Features like conditional formatting, tooltips, database design reporting, outstanding graphics support and powerful debugging tools make Filemaker Pro 9 Advanced the ideal choice for any programmer that is ready to part company with MS Access.

Summary: FileMaker Convert
Comment: After using Microsoft Access for some time, I'm convinced FileMaker is the way to go. The features of the developer package, data tracker and script debugging were a big help. The tooltip added a touch of sophistication to my overlay application that impressed the users.
I faced a lot of challenges and many times thought FileMaker just wasn't capable of doing what I wanted to do. However, in most cases, I was able to find a way to accomplish my goals. The FileMaker on-line community is robust and helpful. I'll never go back to Access.
