Summary: i hate the tigrex
Comment: I'll start out by saying, if you are easily frustrated...do not play this game, you will wind up breaking your psp and angry the rest of the day.

Yes the game is easy in most areas once you learn how or what the monsters do......But when you get to the G level quests it really doesn't matter how well you know what they will do, it really matters on skill and patience, for one hit can kill you.

What the game will do is set you up for failure, for instance:
You come into a zone with a monster and it see's you; you cower in fear, which could very well result in you getting hit.... I would like to call this combo number 1. There are other such combos in the game that will surely anger you so be sure to be prepared.

All and all this game is a very challenging game.

Summary: 4 Stars
Comment: Monster hunter Freedom 2 is a game of skill, not button mashing, and achievements. To summarize your pretty much a an assasin/gladiator, except instead of trying to kill people, you kill monsters. I love this game, it's so much fun ONCE YOU GET INTO IT (which unfortunately took me about 10 hours to start fulling enjoying the game). Eventually, you'll understand the strategy behind killing monsters, and you'll start looking forward to doing farming. You have alot of motivation to play this game because you become truly proud and satisfied once you defeat a monster that has slaughtered you so many times before, your so happy as you run around your farm fishing mining picking mushroom and catching bugs. And your of course very excited to obtain the items needed to upgrade and invent new armor and weapons, however that's all the game is good for. The farm becomes and dedioues chore when you haven't accomplished anything big, and it just involves alot of clicking and waiting, bery repititious. Also, your dream weapong is about 20 hours away, the weapon that you master and you want to invent is very hard to obtain the parts. However, i'm not one who can go online,so i'm sure the friends you make who are further in the game can help you out. My last complaint is the difficulty, it becomes so hard, and i'm experienced, i've played about sisxty hours. I can't beat certain monsters, and I've been perseverent with killing the monsters before them, but the efoort that continouly increases just becomes impossible. However, if you can go online, I've heard there's always people online so with the help of three other people, i'm sure the tasks are do-able, but by yourself... yeah right. Anyways, if you have wireless interent and like games online, this is probably the best game for that, but without the help of random strangers, it's only a 3 and a half star.

Summary: 50+ hours into MHF2
Comment: Im finally over 50 hours into Monster Hunter Freedom 2, W00T, and im still havin fun, lol. This game is the perfect rpg and i cant get away from it now hearing that theres an expansion comin out this spring.
Anyway, im organizing my review into two lists of pros and cons.

Pros
-The game is massive and endlessly replayable, giving role-players hundreds of hours of gameplay
-The graphics are AMAZING
-great combat system, enemies are damaged more or less or even not at all depending on where you hit them, and you can knock them down, stun them, even make them run away scared
-Own and build up your own farm to access endless materials, plant seeds/harvest crops, mine rocks, catch fish, catch bugs, (more options, but you have to unlock them)
-about 40-50 monsters to fight ranging in size and strength, from thee mosswine that can be easily 1hit KO-ed to the Elder Dragons that can easily 1hit K0 you
-multiplayer is great, gang up on your enemies, muahaha
-the best action you may ever see, getting beaten to death and eaten by a dragon in an arena duel has never been so fun
-after killing your enemies, carve meat and bones out of them, then use those items and materials gathered from your farm and the field to make your own weapons and armor out them, muahaha
-100s of weps, 100s of equipment sets, 100s of items
-realistic combat, you dont gain levels and exp, you train by learning better fighting strategies and enemies weaknesses, and makin better armor and weps
-hire felynes to cook food for you (although you can cook too)
-the game is mind-boggingly big and rumor has it an expansion is coming out spring 2009 (look up Monster Hunter Freedom Unite)

Cons (finally)
-like all great rpgs, the game starts off so slow you may be tempted to leave it (Elder Scrolls 4 anyone???)
-You are going to die!...the boss monsters are hard, there hp and power are massive, but try not to be discouraged, if you keep making better weps and armor, and keep practicing to learn their weaknesses, youll eventually be the one owning them
-the camera might not be liked by some, i personally love it, it does not move automatically, you have to move it yourself, even during fights
-the controls might be difficult to get used to, i still sometimes mess it up, its really only because theres so many things you can do its hard to fit it all into the PSP's controls, but Capcom did an okay job with it (id make one or two small changes)

thats everything i can think of, theres still so much more of the game i havent reached yet, im just over 50 hours into it and had a rough start, im like a noob in this game, but anyway, i have some Cephaloths to kill so i can upgrade a wep so Peace Out

Summary: Best Game on the PSP
Comment: There is a reason this game is selling rediculously in Japan, it is the best game for the PSP. Everything about this game is great. The graphics are one of the best for the PSP, gameplay is fun and exilerating giving you the feeling that you actually accomplished something after taking down a monster, and the level of customization is huge and actually makes a big difference during gameplay. Replay is great too as you can easily log over +300hrs of gameplay. It has also been improved over MHF1 with more balanced weapons and more monsters.

A warning though, MHF2 is hard, very hard. I think that is why this game is so popular because it is not a game everyone can beat. Harcore games will love this game. Those that have a habit of throwing controllers may want to avoid the game as a new PSP will run you $200.
