Editorial Reviews:

In this wacky, whimsical game, players must use the Lily Pad Launchers to spring their frogs toward the rotating tree to see who stays and who falls. But watch out for the big POP -- and see how many frogs drop! Whoever has the most frogs left in the tree wins that round. This hilarious game is a hoppin' and poppin' good time for kids. Includes 24 frogs, 4 launchers, base, tree trunk with tree top and 4 tree limbs and instruction sheet. Requires 3 "AA" batteries, not included.

Customer Rating: Summary: Waste of Money Comment: This toy is a waste of money. It is even difficult for adults and older children get the frogs on the tree. Also, the plastic leaves/branches aren't very strong, we have hardly used the game because it is an exercise in frustration, and the plastic is stressed where it connects with the trunk of the tree. It is really hard to push the tree down to set the game, impossible for children. It is also very loud and there is no volume control. It is also akward and difficult to store. Don't make the mistake we did and waste your money.
Customer Rating: Summary: Takes a little practice, but TONS of fun! Comment: Pros
FUN for the kids!
FUN for the parents/grandparents playing too!
Keeps my kids occupied for at least a half hour playing
Builds a little manual dexterity
Could probably teach some counting/more than less than values while counting how many frogs of each color stayed on the tree to determine the winner. (yea, its a bit of stretch on that one)
Cons
Little loud and scratchy game noises
Takes a little practice to get the right aim to get frogs to stick on the tree
Tree is hard for little hands to snap into the base sometimes
Tree pops out of the base usually after a few games worth.
My daughter asked for this last year for xmas, and I didn't get it for her due to the reviews saying it was too hard to flip and frustrating for kids. So when it didn't arrive xmas day, it was all she could talk about all year; I didn't get Flipping Frogs. So, Grandma got it for her for her fifth birthday. It was one of the first toys we broke out when she got home from her party at a certain kid's pizza place ;) Assembly was a little interesting, but nothing terribly difficult. We started it up and went to playing. It took a few rounds to figure out the best way to hold the lily pads and how to place the frogs on for best aim and flip-ability. But my 5 year old got it pretty quick, and even my (almost) two year old can sometimes get a frog on the tree. I guess the trick is to use one finger or two to hold down one or both of the little sides sticking out on the base of the lily pad. Also placing the frogs on 'backwards' seems to help the accuracy and mobility. My daughter usually gets a few on before the tree pops and knocks most down. But she has won many a game outright, too. She loves it and wants to play all the time. All in all, the worse con of this is that its a little loud and scratchy with the noises, and that pushing the top part of the tree down to begin the game is often difficult for my 5 year old. She can do it, but it often takes her 2-3 attempts. And the Tree often comes out and I have to re-insert it. But the amount of fun the kids have with it, is worth the very small troubles.
******ADULTS 21 & Over!!!******* This could make for a fun drinking game. Play the game to regular rules, but at the end, for every frog that the winner has left on the tree, all the losers must take that many drinks. I think it could be a lot of fun.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tons of Fun!!! Comment: We've been playing this game for months now and it is totally fun for my 5 & 8 year old I love it too. We crack up playing this game and love it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Flippin Frogs Followup Comment: I was looking for an activity for our Fun Fair to add. The Flippin' Frogs' game seemed to be an activity that ages 4 through 6th grade and older could play. The game was interesting and fun as long as players could hold down the frog launcher and launch the frog at the same time. To solve this problem, we used duct tape to hold down each of the four launchers. This seemed to work well. Also, I would recommend that each frog be loaded with the head down when mounting it on the launcher. This seemed to work better than the reverse. Overall I would say that this activity will be a keeper for our Fun Fair.
Customer Rating: Summary: So much fun I am buying another one! Comment: My grandsons in Denver introduced me to this game and every time I go visit we have to play it! For all of you who have played a board game with younger children and were bored to tears before they finally took their turn or someone won, this is the game for you. It is very fast paced and each game leaves you wanting to play another one!
My grandsons are 8, 6, and 4. We find it works best if I have the 4 year old on my lap and he does the flipping while I load the frogs and aim. The older boys are able to play with no help at all.
Their tree also shows signs of cracking at the top where they originally were pushing down on it but now they grab the trunk of the tree and push down.
I have so much fun playing this game with my grandsons that I am purchasing one for my grandaughters for Christmas. I highly recommend this game if you are ready for a quick fast paced game that gets over quickly so you can play as long as you want, or as little as you want.
