The Actiontec MegaPlug allows you to easily extend the range of your wired network to nearly any location in your home. It does this by routing your network traffic over the electrical power lines inside your walls! Simply plug in one ethernet adapter into any 2- or 3-prong outlet, that is nearby to your router or wireless gateway, then plug the other adapter into another outlet anywhere else in your home. It's really that simple, and a whole lot easier than the convential method of running cables all over your house.

Summary: Worked Out Of The Box
Comment: After 2 years of fighting with an intermittent wireless connection to a Lenovo laptop on both cable modem Internet service and DSL service, I decided to take a chance on this product. I received the product today, unpacked it, plugged it in, disabled my wireless radio on the laptop, and it worked. It's much faster than the wireless (g) link. After 6 hours of use, I'm really happy with this product.

Comment: I bought this Actiontec MegaPlug for my Tivo HD. After learning that I could save money by going to voice over IP for my phone service, I also learned that my TIVO, which was configured to update using my regular phone line, wouldn't operate on a VoiP phone. Before learning about the Actiontec, I thought it was going to take a long ethernet cable run from my basement router to hook the Tivo into my wired network before I could install VoiP. But, what the heck, I thought I'd give the Actiontec a try before going to that much trouble. I'm pleased to report that it works exactly as promised! I plugged one Actiontec adapter into my basement router and plugged the TIVO into the other adapter upstairs. Instant connection! The TIVO software found the ethernet connection immediately; no hasssle, no software configurations, no fussing around. Happily, thanks to the Actiontec, I now have broadband-connected TIVO and broadband telephone service. With the money I'll save on my monthly phone bill, this Actiontec will have paid for itself in a couple of months. I love it when a plan comes together.

Comment: This product works great! In 5 minutes you will be up and running. We couldn't get good wireless signal to our HD TiVOs and PS3 located in the corner of a room inside a TV stand. Now all three are working great with this product. Downloading HD content to the TiVos and playing games online with the PS3 are no problem!

Comment: This is the "BOMB"! Saw this on another site and came to Amazon to see what their price and reviews were on it. Needed to expand home network for my Wife to work from and wasn't looking forward to having to run 75' of cat5 through walls. It works great! Took longer for me to walk from one room to the other then setting up the units. Only thing negative I could say is that it was on special when I brought it($49) and now 1 unit($56) is more then what I got the twin-pack for. Wish I had gotten 2 packs.
