The Grundig S350 DL Deluxe offers exceptional value and superior reception of AM, FM and international shortwave. An analog receiver with digital display of frequency and clock, it offers the best of both worlds to the radio enthusiast. Utilizing today's most modern single-conversion superheterodyne circuit design, it's powered by four D cells for exceptionally long play-time and comes with an AC adapter. It receives continuous shortwave from 2.9 - 27.4 MHz, covering all 13 international shortwave broadcast bands of 11, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 31, 41, 49, 60, 75 and 90 meters. You will get news and events from all over the world and superior reception of your favorite domestic AM and FM stations, including those often hard to pull-in AM talk shows. It's ideal for the AM DX'ing enthusiast too. There is a built-in, defeatable, 90 minute sleep timer that automatically turns the radio off after 90 minutes so if you fall asleep the radio will not play all night long and run down the battery. You can now set the clock while the radio is playing. A wide and narrow switch on the front panel allows you to narrow the radio's bandwidth to reduce adjacent channel interference. A new SW/AM frequency lock circuit improves stability to reduce drift.
There is a built-in telescopic antenna for FM and shortwave plus a built in ferrite bar antenna for AM. The back panel features a 75 ohm KOK antenna jack for FM and spring loaded terminals for 500 ohm AM/SW wire antenna and ground. There is also a 6 VDC input jack for the supplied AC adapter. Summary: Worthless piece of junk
Comment: AM stations that are clear and clean on my car radio do not come in at all. Even strong FM signals are tinged with static at all times. I have nothing to compare it to for SW. My $50 boom box is a better radio and plays disks too.

Comment: The grundig 350 is a very impressive radio. Reception is great on all frequencies, and really great on shortwave with just a basic straight wire antenna of aboubt 65 ft.
I would recommend this radio highly to anyone who enjoy's excellent radio reception with ease of use.

Summary: Great Basic Table Radio Is Tops for AM/FM Reception
Comment: If you're looking for a basic table radio without presets and digital tuning, you would do well to consider the Grundig S350 Deluxe, which I have owned and used for the last 3 years. The S350 will get you best FM performance possible. AM is great also. The speaker is loud and fills a room easily.
The antenna is very long. Make sure you have room to extend the antenna so it doesn't bend by jamming against a wall or a ceiling.
The tendency to drift in the old model of the S350 has been fixed with the new Deluxe model.
You will also like the fact that though the radio is analog, you can see the digital read-out, so you always know what station you're on.
Another outstanding feature is fine-tuning and RF grain so you can filter as much as you need in the event you get AM overloading.
My only complaint about the S350 is really a complaint about all modern radios: They are built of light plastic. Gone are the days of heavy, high-grade radios. But on balance if you are a stickler for AM and FM reception, you will find that you have a reception champion in the S350.

Comment: This is one of my keeper radios for a couple of reasons. #1, it's the most sensitive radio I've owned on MW. If you like to do some AM DX'ing, this radio is excellent. It's just as good as the "GE Super-Radio". I'm in the NY area, and can pick up AM stations all over the US and Canada. #2, the audio quality is excellent. Battery life is also excellent. As shortwave radio, it has its shortcomings. By design, the radio has an analog tuner with a digital display. This causes the radio to drift, as most analog radios do. Many people think because it has a digital frequency display, that it's a digital tuner. Not so. If drift is going to annoy you, then look elsewhere.

Summary: Better than expected
Comment: This radio is better than I expected when I bought it for $100.00. It has long battery life and allows you to choose AA or D size batteries with the ease of a selector switch. The radio has a 90 minute timer which is useful, but if you want it to stay on indefinitely, the power button needs to be held down for 3 seconds. The only downfall is that the radio tuning control does have a tendency to move, which forces the listener to keep adjusting the radio every so often.
