Summary: Printer: Good Support: Bad - Massive problems with Mac
Comment: have this machine since 2 years and it worked fine in the beginning. The noise is quite loud but I can live with that.
Whats really disappointing is the support of the Samsung Company. I used Mac OS X 10.4 and everything was fine. Upgraded to Leopard 10.5 and I had to wait 3 months (!) for them to update their drivers.
It still can get worse: Since 10.5.3 (same goes for 10.5.4 AND 10.5.5) I can't print anymore. Although the companys homepage still claims 10.5 is enterly supported (which is NOT TRUE, only 10.5.1 and 10.5.2 are supported). I called them and they were pretty uninformed about all this. They didn't know about any issues with Mac OS and they didn't know anything about driver-compatibility. I still don't have a responce to a mail, sent 1 month ago, asking if the latest driver update (09/11/2008) includes any of the needed changes (fact is: it still doesn't work).
So now I've been waiting for drivers that work another 5 months (!!!). And I'm about to sell this machine (I'll try to give it back to the shop where I bought it, but don't know if that will work).
All in all this has been one of the most time consuming, energy eating purchases I have made in the last few years...
Don't buy this unless you are using Mac OS X 10.5.2 or earlier!

Summary: Good printer at a good price
Comment: I own this printer and bought one for my kid's school. It offers everything we need for home use - printing kid's homework assignments, making copies, scanning in pictures. Very reliable, never had any problems with it. Easy to setup. Very happy with it. The only thing that may be improved is the noise level when in idle mode.
All in all, very good printer for the money. Highly recommend it.
