Comment: This is a nice disc to buy when you have everything else Lynch has done on DVD. The short video called NEIGHBOR BOY alone is worth buying the disc for. Funny stuff. I also loved watching David at work in LAMP. I was fascinated by it. BUG CRAWLS was also fascinating and I hope we get to see more of that strange world. It isn't the best Lynch has to offer but it is a nice addition to a Lynch collection and Amazon is selling it at a much better price than I paid for it in a retail store. I think it is certainly worth checking out if you find David Lynch interesting. If you liked DUMBLAND you will probably love this.

Summary: Moving Paintings
Comment: David always said his movies were simply "moving paintings" as in they are extensions of how he perceives life to be at one particular instant.
These shorts are all basically moving paintings. They are surreal imagery and very interesting. The movies can't really be called movies, they are more like art, except 'Lamp" which is just him making a lamp.
If you like Lynch, and want to learn about him, laugh with him, and see how he sees the world, this is a DVD for you. If you are expecting something like 'The Grandmother', it's not here.
Think art rather than cinema.

Summary: Terrible......& overpriced!
Comment: Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love 'Twin Peaks' & I am a big fan of the majority of David Lynch's films. My favorite films are Lynch films. I even collect film memorabilia for Twin Peaks & some of Lynch's films. I think David Lynch is a highly talented & highly creative director. I really enjoyed 'The Short Films of David Lynch' & was especially impressed by 'The Grandmother'.
All that said, I found 'Dynamic 1' to be a HUGE disappointment, not to mention overpriced! I really don't want to go into detail about how horrible each 'film' was. So here's some advice instead. I know Lynch fans will just be TOO curious not to check this one out. But do yourself a favor, find an online rental site & just rent it instead. Do not waste your money on this DVD.
At least I didn't buy 'Dumbland'. Thank god for that.
