Summary: Piano, piano, piano...
Comment: Okay, I entitled this review "Piano, piano, piano..." because the sound of it is exactly like that piano on Elmo's World where Elmo uses the "Jingle Bells" tune to sing about whatever his theme is for the day; you know, "dogs, dogs, dogs..." The tone isn't perfect, but it's pretty close, and my kids are still at the ages where I'm trying to teach them not to play a piano with their feet, so this little thing is ideal. All three of my kids like to sit down and howl out a song that doesn't at all match the "music" they're playing on this piano. But they are gaining an appreciation of music, and one of them has even learned to match her voice to the note she's playing, so that's a good start.

Summary: Very cute and tons of fun!
Comment: We bought the piano for our 3 year old. He noticed the letter and colors noting the different keys right away. It comes with a book that teaches how to play the songs. He loves to sing and play his piano!

Summary: Melissa & Doug Learn-to-Play piano
Comment: I purchased the piano for my grandddaughter who lives out of state. Her mom said it is adorable, likes the idea it came with an instruction book. My granddaughter is still young and is not quite the pianist, so she is not utilizing it like an older toddler.
I will be going to see her next month and will have the chance to see the piano first hand.

Summary: Use it to teach respect!
Comment: If you're looking for a toy piano that your kids can pound on, this is not the one. Buy a Fisher Price plastic electronic one if that's what you want.
If you're looking for a nice first instrument that you can use to teach your kids to respect musical instruments as well as play, this is the one. It's made of wood. It has keys. It's a piano. It can take some abuse but not alot. It also looks nice in a kid's room and sounds reasonably good for a small kid's piano.
This is not disposable. If treated right, it's something that you'll keep for your kid to pass on to their kids.

Summary: Even a dog can play it!
Comment: My dog is a certified therapy dog. He is trained to visit schools, nursing homes and hospitals. I'm always trying to teach him new tricks to make the clients we visit smile. His latest trick is to play this piano. He sits down and plays with one paw and then the other. The piano is durable enough for a 55 lb dog to play with his paws. When he was first learning, he even tried to stand on it with his front paws and the piano was stable and did not tip over. He also drooled on the keyboard as he receives treats in the training process. The keys still work. We've had the piano for 2 months now and he plays on it everday. He loves it! I feel it is durable and fun and I would recommend it to both 4 and 2 legged children!
