Editorial Reviews:

The 4-port PS/2 Audio KVM Switch lets you control multimedia PCs with just one keyboard, monitor, mouse, microphone and a set of speakers. The KVM switch not only allows you to share your monitor, keyboard and mouse but you can also share microphone and speakers. With just a simple press of a button, this KVM switch eliminates the hassle of cable swapping and switching between 4 PCs. With its Hot-Plug, Auto-Scan and Hot-Key operating features, the TK-408K is the perfect choice for managing 4 PCs. Separate KVM cables are included.

Summary: TK-408 Mouse/Keyboard lose signal + screen flicker
Comment: I've been using KVM for many years. I was happy to see the TrendNet tk-408 offered for such a good price... However it was to good to be true. I got a macintosh and a PC machine to work ok, however when I boot the PC on Linux the screen flickers "until warm". I'm not sure why, but the first 10 minutes the screen is on it keeps flickering away. NO, its not the monitor, if the monitor is connected to "the other" KVM (ps2), this does not happen. It may be some sort of USB power issue... Anyhow, its hard to get a hold of support at Trendnet...
Still struggling here...

Summary: TRENDnet 4 port switch
Comment: I love this thing. Owned it for a couple of years and it works great. Have had some strange keyboard/mouse activity when it is powered by a single Linux box other wise no problems. With three machines (servers ect) connected and running, having one moitor, keyboard and mouse is very nice. Have not used speakers with it.

Summary: Great and Easy
Comment: This thing was a dream. Comes with all necessary cables and is hot-swapable. Didn't have to turn anything off to make it work. Plus the sound is great.

Summary: Can't get it to see my keyboard or mouse!
Comment: I got this one. Was not sure it came with the cords from Amazon. So I got it some place else that for sure said it came with the cords.

I got it hooked it up to 2 PC's. Just could not get the mouse or keyboard to work! I can get the keyboard to work in the BIOS but that's it. I even tested 4 other keyboards on it and 2 other mouse. It just will not see it.

I wish they told me a way to reset this KVM. I called Trendnet. They will only call you back and I missed there call but they left there number. I called back and they put me on hold but could not get a person soon to take to me so will call me back again. Takes a day for them to call you back.

I put a USB keyboard and mouse on and it installed the drivers and worked. But not though the KVM! It's the TK-408.

Looks nice and the cords are nice. They just have the Audio and mic on one end of the cords The other end just the 15 pin plug. The out put has audio and mic. Number 1 and 2 inputs are on one side, the output on the other side, and on both ends are the 3 and 4 inputs.

The video and sound work real good. The video looks very good. I can't tell it's going though the KVM switch.

I hope they call me back so it works. It just will not see my keyboards or mouse!

Missed the called back 2 times. So I called them back and after about 20 min. Talked to a person. He said try some other cable and ports. I did but on the same computer one with a Intel D945GCCR mother board it will not see the keyboard or mouse! The keyboard can still use the HOT keys and get in the BIOS but nothing in Windows. He said use other ports too and I did but it did not help. I did a reset too. ScrLk + ScrLK + end but it did not help. I did that wile in the BIOS too. In the BIOS the hot keys will switch between computers too. It just will not work on the one computer and any port or any cord I use.

Only thing I can think of is use some USB to PS2 or maybe a BIOS update on the mother board.

The person on the phone said you can't find the truble with this. The only thing to do is replace it. I don't think any things wrong with it when it works with the other 2 PC's I have it hooked up to and one is Linux.
