Summary: Could be more heavy on the heavy-duty?
Comment: I was expecting the clipboard to be a bit more heavy-duty than it actually is. The aluminum isn't very thick, and although I haven't bent it yet, I'm basically just waiting for the day when this happens.
But it's true: there is indeed a clear layer of something-or-another covering the surface, which helps protect it against scratches, etc., and the clip is pretty strong. The clipboard is light and fits perfectly into my backpack. I actually use it all the time in class, despite desks and tables, since I am a leftie and sometimes taking notes can be difficult when there's already an open book eating up the space in front of you.
