Introducing a clip folder for knife people who prefer the look of a straight spine; the profile reveals a "seamless" design that begins at the back of the blade and continues along the length of the upper edge of the handle. In fact, the EVO and EVO JR actually have a little bit of the dagger in them. Another aesthetic design touch is the series of seven slanting oval openings in the anodized aluminum handle. They serve to make these knives both organic and aggressive. Functionally, the oval openings further reduce the overall weight of these knives to near nothingness. The blades are constructed of 440 stainless steel that is coated with titanium nitride for added corrosion resistance. There's a thumb stud for easy one-handed opening. And, there's an integral finger guard for an extra measure of safety. Bottom line? You'd do well to own such a highly evolved knife.Overall Length: 7.95"Length Closed: 4.61"Length of Blade: 3.43"Weight: 2.8ozBlade Material: High Carbon Stainless, Titanium Nitride coatingHandle Material: Anodized AluminumBlade Style: Clip PointBlade Type: SerratedManufacturer: Gerber Blades. Customer Rating: Summary: Inferior to the similar Columbia River M16 Comment: It's not a "bad" knife, but it's not as good as a similar knife that already existed.
There are already loads of pocket knives out there. If someone is going to make a knife similar to another person's design, they should at least try to improve upon it, not just make a cheaper version.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Knife Comment: The Gerber Evo Serrated Knife is a very useful tool.
Pros-
-Razor sharp blade
-Finger flip allows for fast, switchblad like activation.
-Serrations can cut through rope easily
-Pocket clip
-Super lightweight
Cons-
-Andodized aluminum handle can chip, exposing inner metal.
-Thumb stud difficult to use.
-Pcket clip very tight.
Overall, the Evo is a very good knife for camping, hiking, general use, and even self defence.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect Comment: This knife is exactly what you need for just about everything, including cutting rope, whitling, self-defence, cutting meat, and other things. IT is my primary knife for camping, because withit I don't need anything else. The blade does lock, and can be easily opened with one hand.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Knife I have ever owned Comment: This is, bar none, the best knife I have ever used. It is light, comfortable, and easy to open. It feels solid but not at all bulky. plus looks great, cuts great, and it comes with gerber's lifetime warranty. A great buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Finally A Solid Sailor's Knife! Comment: So I've been checking out a bunch of these knives at the local sporting good stores so I can take sailing. I'm looking for a folding knife that I can open with one hand. Most of them were either ugly or the blade can be twisted out too easily (sometimes all it takes is a hard shake and the blade comes out). When I tried this knife I realized this is the knife for me. It felt sturdy, strong, easy to open with one hand but not easy to shake the blade out and a good price. My only 2 gripes are: there's no socket for me to hang this around my neck without having the rope touch the blade and it doesn't come with a sleeve. Can't have it all!
