Summary: Nice little hatchet, but returning it
Comment: Nice little hatchet but it comes in a large, molded plastic snap-in case with a big carry handle on top. It would look good on the garage wall but it's too bulky to carry in a backpack. Sending it back and will look at an Estwing hatchet from Home Depot instead.

Comment: I own a few Fiskars axes.This hatchet is excellent! Well balanced and keeps it's edge.Very durable handle.I suspect it would last a million years in a landfill..Nice nylon sheath included.This is the perfect small hatchet for preparing kindling.Hot knife through butter..Easy to control.

Comment: Fiskars wood-splitting implements can't be beat. We have the axe and hatchet and they are the best we have ever owned --- and, with 5 fireplaces, chopping wood efficiently is important.
