3 years & up. The letters in this set are shaped accurately with correct proportions, and include more of the letters you need most: extra vowels a, e, i, o, u, and consonants b, l, m, r, s, t. They feature more and stronger magnets on the back for a "sure grip". Color-coded with red vowels and blue consonants. 42 pieces.

Summary: Best Letters Ever!
Comment: These are the best letters on the market. The consonants in blue and vowels in red is GREAT for helping kids learn the difference, especially when they begin to spell. The letters are formed correctly, unlike many magnetic letters that have funky a's. There are duplicates of the most common letters so that kids can spell just about any word there is and not run out of letters. These are so great in teaching kids to begin to decode and encode words if they are used properly. I teach kids with language and learning disabilities to read, and these letters are my #1 tool!

Summary: Not Exactly What I Was Expecting
Comment: I sort of thought these would be a bit more like the ones I had when I was a kid. These are much smaller (and more of a choking hazard) than I was expecting. The magnet is kind of small and the kiddo really needs to be quite dexterous to get them to stick. For now, I've put them in a basket on top of the fridge, and we'll just wait until she's a bit older. Unfortunately, days after I purchased these, I saw the ones I really wanted at Walmart for $.99!
