Summary: Very versatile tools
Comment: This is my second set of Vice Grip Pliars. The first set lasted for about 20 years and were among my most used tools. They were used, among other things, to extract stripped screws by locking onto the head and turning the screw out. I lost that first set of vice grips by loaning them out. You can buy cheaper locking pliars than the made in USA Erwin Vice Grips, but you get what you pay for. I read an article in popular science magazine that was writing about Vice Grips. It seems that a vice president of the Vice Grip Co. was on a trip to Tiwan. While touring a hardware store he saw a pair of American made Erwin Vice Grip pliars. He asked the proprieter how they could sell higher priced American made products like this in Tiwan. The old man wisely told him "Only in America can people afford to buy tools that don't work".
