Summary: Buy this one - avoid cheaper switching power supplies
Comment: Works as described. Great price. Be careful to avoid cheaper switching power supplies as they may overheat or burn out electronic devices. This unit is not a switching PS. You can get test leads in a variety of configurations that fit this unit from Radio Shack - inexpensive.

Summary: Please don't ban this, gov't!!
Comment: This unit is great for manufacturing a strong oxidizing agent used in fireworks called potassium perchlorate. It can also be used for making potassium chlorate, which can be used for both fireworks and high explosives.
Hopefully the government doesn't ban these little units because of their ability to make these substances. It's amazing what this little unit can do when you pass its pretty little current through a super saturated solution of common table salt (its oxidizer city, baby!).
I give this unit five stars because it does exactly what it was advertised to do and I didn't have to do any modifications to this unit to get set up and make these chemicals.
