Customer Rating: Summary: step by step explanation Comment: I think the thing that makes Portrait Savvy different is that it takes a portrait and breaks it down into 9 elements, film (for film camera only obviously), background, clothing, pose, props, camera angle, image placement, lighting, and distance from subject. Then the author takes each element and walks you through your options and gives recommendations. Unlike some portrait photography books I have read, this software was not intimidating. The author mentioned several mistakes she has made over the years, so that not only was helpful but it made me feel that it is okay for me to make mistakes. It was funny in places and certainly entertaining. I liked all of the personal stories the author included especially those about the portraits included in the software. My only complaint is that the author did not include any technical explanation of how a camera works.
Customer Rating: Summary: I learned to tell a story with my lens Comment: I like the way you showed me how to draw the viewer into the picture and how to use natural poses. I loved learning how to tell a story with a portrait.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great practical advice Comment: This software, or e-book was so informational and easy to read. It wasn't stuffy or overly technical. I found the author's personal experiences as a professional photographer the most entertaining and informative.
