Summary: CD/MP3 playback became unusable within 1 week because of periodic static
Comment: Within the first week or so of use, the CD playback on this system became unusable. When playing a CD or MP3 disk, every few seconds the player injects a burst of loud static on top of the audio playback, thus rendering the CD playback so annoying that the system cannot be used. The display and controls all look as if the unit is working correctly, but the audio results demonstrate that it is not. This happens with every disk we have tried, so it is clearly a malfunctioning system, not an isolated case of one damaged CD.

Summary: Too good to be true
Comment: This Audiovox system looks great, especially for the price... but alas, sometimes you really do get what you pay for. I received a defective player that buzzed like a distant radio station, ALL THE TIME- even when playing CD's. I guess I should had heeded that other guy's advise, I just thought HIS particular one buzzed. Oops.

Summary: don't buy this, it's garbage.
Comment: Horrible hiss obscures the sound. Not just quiet moments in songs, but throughout any signal there's a high hiss. Not a speaker problem, either, as the same was true listening on headphones. I'm not an audiophile and I'm not picky, so this is not a review by some obsessive nitpicker: the noise reduction is nonexistent; the hiss is immediately obvious. I opened the box, listened through speakers, listened through headphones, put it right back in the box and returned it. No sound system should have this much noise.

Comment: Gave this as a present to my dad. He researched what system he thought I should buy for over two months. Now that it has arrived he says it is unquestionably the best system money can buy for under $100.00 (maybe even under $200.00)! Fabulous sound, excellent reception, plug in the headphones and you are in heaven! He highly recommends this system.

Summary: The size is micro, but not the sound.
Comment: The size of this micro system was perfect for the space I had available. It's very short, easy to put in just about anywhere. The face of the player opens, and that's where the cd goes (cd stops playing when open, and doesnt start back at the same place). The headphone jack is at the top, which is very convenient, just dont do like I did, and get the cord caught in the door, for previously mentioned reasons. This player is.. one of the best I've ever owned. The sound is great too.
