Comment: My daughter was 3 when she got the art studio for her v.smile. She LOVES it! She is now 4.5 and its held up great! Shes learned a lot from it ... just today she told a lady at a store that her favorite color is magenta. Great product!!

Summary: Everyone is different, but I think they should make this easier for small children
Comment: My son just turned 5. And he's really computer literate. He plays video games all the time. He also loves to draw on his doodle pro. So we thought this would be a great Christmas gift for him. He does like it. But it gets him extremely frustrated. The program where they teach you draw is what bothers him the most. They give you an image to draw like a sail boat. Then you draw it line by line. But you only get 3 chances before they draw the line for you. He would sit there and draw the line over and over until he got it right, if they only gave him the chance. He gets so mad when they draw the line for him. It frustrates us as parents too. He's got down the stylist part. But sometimes it just won't work for a about 3 or 4 seconds and this makes him upset too.
All in all I think they should have either made it more user friendly for 5 to 7 years old or they should have marketed it to an older group of kids. Hopefully he'll like it better once he gets older.

Comment: I bought this for my 5yr old daughter who loves to draw. She loves playing with this toy. We haven't had any trouble with operation of the toy and it set up easily and quickly!

Summary: Stylus lasted only three months
Comment: We bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday. She loved it, especially the "free draw" and the color-by-number-type activity.
She actually became proficient in using it; the reason for the low ranking is that the pen/stylus recently broke/wore out.
We're in the process of trying to get it replaced, but from a durability standpoint, this obviously didn't keep up with a toddler.

Comment: LIKE THE PREVIOUS REVIEW BY MARK JUSTICE. I ALSO THINK IF VTECH WOULD BE A LITTLE SMART THEY WOULD MAKE OTHER SMARTRIDGES THAT CAN BE USED WITH THE ART STUDIO & THE JAMMIN GYM. THAT WOULD MAKE BE WONDERFUL ESPECIALLY IF THE USED SOME OF DISNEY'S CHARACTERS IN THOSE GAMES.
OTHER THAN THAT LITTLE COMMENT I THINK THIS PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD AND FUN FOR THE KIDS.
