An easy to play, affordable model. Key of C. The reeds of Diatonic Harmonicas produce the notes of the scale to which they are tuned. For example, a diatonic harmonica tuned to the key of C would produce the natural notes of the C scale without sharps and flats (picture the white keys on a piano, without the black keys). Each hole has two reeds; one plays when breath is exhaled (blow) and the other when inhaled (draw). The individual reeds are each tuned to play a different note on the scale.

Customer Rating: Summary: Delivers rich notes, despite size and price Comment: I am a beginner and this harmonica works great for me!
It has very rich notes even though it is quite small and is only a few dollars.
It comes with a two-peice, hard plastic case and basic instructions showing how to hold it and play the notes. You can also find free tips and instructions on the internet telling how to play and care for your harmonica.
I highly reccomend it to anyone who wants to try out the harmonica.
Customer Rating: Summary: A pretty good harmonica for 6 bucks Comment: Ahhh...the Hohner Pocket Pal. My first harmonica. For $6, this little guy turned out to be well worth it. I was expecting a terrible sound and design coupled with cheap plastic reeds and a cheaper plastic body. This harmonica exceeded expectations and, as it turns out, sounds pretty good. The design is good; it's a combination of a plastic body with metal overlays. The reeds are actually pretty darn good for $6, at least for 4 months or so.
I would recommend this as a gift for kids or as a neat way to while away time on the front porch. However, if you are considering learning how to play harmonica and get good at it, hit the back button on your browser and type in Lee Oskar C Diatonic. That right there is a true instrument for a budding harp player at a ridiculously amazing price.
Overall, this was a neat little harmonica that gave me months of enjoyment. I ended up going on to bigger and better things (the Lee Oskar), but as a kid's gift or toy this does the job with little damage to mom and dad's pocketbook.
Customer Rating: Summary: Splendid instrument for the price Comment: Great instrument for the price. Its far better than any other harp in its price range. I am pleasantly surprised, and very happy with the product. It allows me to try out stuff safely without risking my rpicier harps...and its really durable....great product.... would highly recommend to beginners.
