Customer Rating: Summary: My Review Wireless Rain Gauge Comment: I have own my wireless rain gauge for a few years now. The main reason i gave it a 3 star rating is its ability of accuracy. I have a old glass tube rain gauge and during heavy rain it dont read as much as a inch off to the glass tube gauge. It seems to stay ok with lite rainfall. The battery life is about normal for any wireless device.
Customer Rating: Summary: A nice little gadget Comment: I have had this wireless rain gauge for several years now and it has never failed me. I set the collector/transmitter outside on a picnic table on the deck and the receiver on a windowsill in a direct line to each other That is the rule with just about any remote control device. They have to be able to "see" each other. Also, you have to keep the batteries fresh for it to work properly, but again, that is true for many battery-powered devices. I keep the alarm set to "on" and it has never failed to beep after a measurable amount of rain has fallen. I check the battery indicator every so often to see if the batteries need to be changed. I like gadgets -- I also have a wireless thermometer outside the house and you have to watch the batteries on that as well -- and this rain gauge is one of my favorites.
Customer Rating: Summary: Chaney Instrument Wireless Rain Gauge w/ Monitor Comment: Don't waste your money!! This rain gauge either doesn't read when it is raining or just falls apart. Very disappointed!
Customer Rating: Summary: Waste of money Comment: I bought two of these. One for myself and one as a gift. Both rain gauges broke after one month.
Customer Rating: Summary: Save your money, don't buy this Comment: We bought and used the rain guage for about 2 months during the summer of '06. For winter storage, batteries were removed and both parts were stored inside until recently. A number of new batteries were tried but the guage consistently begins with "00.00" then jumps to "22.68." For the price, this was a poor investment.
Don't waste your money
