Summary: The new BEST surf magazine.
Comment: The reviews blowing off SURFING on this page obviously haven't taken a look at the magazine recently. First of all, Surfer mag is in the dumps these days - with the stangent editorial of Sam "the bore" George soliliquizing away on his own little pulpit while the editorial team traipse off on their own little agendas is truly tiresome. SURFING on the other hand, has been on a sharp up-swing from their former, grom-oriented self. Clean, simple, and pure the way a surf magazine should be, you can tell the mag is being put together by a unified editorial team. Each issue is cohesive, focused and beautiful. Rounded lines (to imitate the shape of waves) and huge, epic surf pics displaying the true cutting edge of high performance surfing. I've been a subscriber of both surf mags (which by the way, are owned by the same parent company and thus print the exact some amount of advertising), and I definitely see SURFING on the way up and Surfer, on the way out. Check it out. The difference is clear.

Summary: My First Collage...
Comment: ...was produced from the pages of this magazine. I was a 10 year-old midwesterner just returning home from my first visit to relatives living in Newport Beach, CA with a copy of Surfing in my hands. Unable to persuade my parents to relocate and forced to buy a skateboard rather than a surfboard, I was left only with this magazine to satisfy my desire to be on the beach and in the water. And satisfy it has! All of these years later, I still pour over the pictures and read about the lifestyles these "dudes". Spicoli lives.
