The iMic universal audio adapter is a USB device that allows the connection of virtually any microphone or sound input device to the iBook, G4 Cube, Titanium PowerBook G4 or any other Mac with USB ports. Currently shipping, the iMic supports both line and Mic level input as well as line level output for any USB capable computer. By using USB, the iMic provides significantly superior audio input and output performance over built in audio. The iMic is a must have product for people who are serious about getting high quality audio in or out of their computers. The iMic not only provides amazingly high quality performance but is remarkably inexpensive.

Customer Rating: Summary: Plug-and-Play Mic Input Comment: I originally picked up the iMic so that I could use a microphone headset with my G5. It has worked perfectly since. It was simply plug-and-play for me, no fuss, no muss. It looks like it's more expensive now than when I purchased it, but at the time, it was a fairly inexpensive way to get decent mic functionality on a Mac.
It does also work on a PC, though I haven't really done much experimentation with it. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a way to get a mic to work with a computer that doesn't have a built-in mic port.
Customer Rating: Summary: not what I thot it was Comment: This product does not do what i wanted it to, so it doesn;t do me any good, I didn't know how to return it.
Thanks Helen Newbanks
Customer Rating: Summary: Works Perfect for Ripping Vinyl Comment: I bought this product to rip vinyl with my Numark portable turntable, my ibook G4, and the Audacity software. I'm very happy with the results. I couldn't do it without the imic, because I don't have an input jack on my laptop.
Customer Rating: Summary: It doesn't work on Vista Comment: I just bought this and it won't work on my machine. I searched the Griffin site and it said that the device doesn't work on Vista. Of course, neither the box nor any of the online advertising mentions this. I guess it sucks to be me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Be careful when ordering this item from Amazon! Comment: Twice now I've tried to order the external sound card, the first time from TechNGnet and the last time from Target, and both times I received the iMic Hi Resolution USB Audio Capture device, which is NOT a sound card, it just filters out interference and artifacts from audio imported from vinyl, I guess. I have no use for it, now I have two laying around that I need to return. How the heck do I order the external sound card, if I can't even get it from this page which clearly has it displayed and described at the top? Irritating.
