The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is a Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub with backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out-of-the-box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB-ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H4 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system. The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H4 to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems.As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUB-H4 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5 Mbps and 12 Mbps) and Hi-speed (480 Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer. Diagnostic LED's located on the top of the device provide power state (self-power) and port status on each port.

Summary: Excellent Value -- Performs as Described
Comment: 4.5 Stars - is more like it. I definitely recommend this product. It is an excellent value for the money. Just plug it in and it performs as described, is a modest size for its capacity, and, MOST importantly, you can use every port simultaneously as their is generous room between each port. I take away a half-star only because of the plug .. its a little big and will not be able to use the outlet immediately next to the one taken by this one's plug.
But remember, on this as well as ANY multiport hub (that I know of) if you mix USB 1.0 or 1.1, all the ports will operate at the slowest device speed, not the 2.0 speed the unit is capable of delivering.

Comment: This d-link hub replaced another hub that I had. I am now able to power all my USB driven items. This D-link is great.

Comment: I have purchased a number of these and really like time. The ports are on the front for easy access and the device can be position in a convenient location. This is a powered hub (requiring an outlet). If you are looking and different devices you do not want to use a self powered USB hub. Most external USB equipment you will be attaching to the hub will prefer or require a powered hub.

Comment: The D-Link DUB-H4 High Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub does everything I could ask for, in a nice, neat package. Set up a snap and the price is perfect for people that don't want to break the bank when they only have a couple of available USB ports on their computer.
