Are you a dubbing fanatic? Well, now that high-speed dubbing is available from compact disc to MiniDisc, you can do your dubbing directly in the digital domain! Sharp's MDM3 mini-system features a single-disc MD player and a single-disc CD player connected to a pair of two-way speakers. This unit features all the standard editing functions in the MD section like erase, combine, move and title. The slick, silver main unit provides 16 watts of power per channel to the wood-stained speakers. However, you probably won't want to turn this system up too loud, as the power rating is given at 10 percent total harmonic distortion. (Most amps are rated at .5 or 1 percent THD.) That means that the more you turn it up past normal listening levels, the more your music is going to sound like Jimi Hendrix (even if you're playing Stravinsky!)A multifunction front-panel display keeps you up to date on the progress of your mix or which of the 40 station presets the AM/FM tuner is dialed in to.
