Customer Rating: Summary: Useless and a waste of money! Comment: I'm interior design student. This was our assigned book. It was completely useless. Not one of use in the course found this book useful, including the instructor. All the course information came from lectures and demonstrations form the instructor. The only use for this book is to even out a legless couch!!!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for Construction Industry Comment: This book teaches cad well for the construction industry. If you need to learn the basics, it is good. Only a few changes of importance for those of us who are used to AutoCAD 2000. If you are a user of AutoCAD 2000, then 2008 only ads a few benefits.
Customer Rating: Summary: Thourough coverage for a beginner Comment: I found the book very complete, covering all the common commands and tools necessary for drawing complex diagrams. Also included are explanations on drawing set-up, drawing blocks, text, title blocks, tables, printing layouts, viewports, etc. Pretty much every facet of the program is at least introduced (except LISP), including 3-D.
While I will be using the program primarily in drawing electrical diagrams, the concepts and methods used for architectural drawings are exactly the same.
If you are a beginner and want to get up to speed fast, this is the book you're looking for.
Customer Rating: Summary: Misleading Title Comment: The book's title was no experience required for autocad 2008 and LT. Well all they covered was homebuilding. I do mostly mechanical work. It did not even touch the subject of parts or anything of that sort. Great work if you want to build a house, just not what I needed.
